Are there any free conference call services that let you block anonymous callers?

Or that let you block certain numbers from calling in to my conference?

I have tried a few, but the only one that seems to be reliable and have good call quality is conferencetown.com and that does let you block anonymous callers or you can block callers by their phone number.

Conference call services include a lot of things. Most providers provide operators to facilitate the conference call. Others offer recording and transcript features. It really depends on what you need.

Is Google Voice a Web or a Phone Service?

This is Google's voice, and traditional phone services with no application to the Web, LEC conflict? Federal Communications Commission for its services, is located in the heart of the probe, the problem is, ever since, FCC yesterday, opining that the target of many investigations begin. The FCC, after a bipartisan group of lawmakers, and the probe request, Google after I wrote a letter to the company, AT & T Inc. lodged a complaint claiming Google Voice has an unfair advantage over traditional companies by being able to block calls to some rural exchanges that charge high, margin-killing termination rates. Phone companies in contrast are banned from all call-blocking – a policy AT&T itself has protested many times. This is an issue, AT&T argued, because Google Voice should be seen as a competitive threat to regular calling services, and subject to the same regulations.

AT & T senior vice president, Robert Quinn said: "Google is a casual, Google voice 'is a traditional phone service has no claims, rejected for the Bureau, as Su-regulated common carriers other SHOULD do not. However, the reality is, Google seems to be no more voice in the creative packaging of goods and services that are already very familiar with the committee. "

Google has countered claims that are costly, and claims a statement, FCC answer is, Google's not a voice telephone service. Rather, it enhances existing communications by offering a single portal through which to access those landlines, mobiles, IM, texts and other modes. Google’s Richard Whitt, senior counsel, also noted that AT&T and other LECs charge for their services and are the beneficiaries of Universal Service Fund subsidiaries. In contrast, Google Voice is a free application that cannot afford to remain so if it must pay “exorbitant” termination rates for calls to certain exchanges.

Those exchanges, Whitt argued, have higher-than-usual termination rates because they have profitable relationships with adult chat lines and free conference calling services. The result is a large amount of expensive traffic. That reality, Google said, arises from outdated carrier compensation rules that should be fixed....

The White House is attempting to mimic Leni Riefenstahl by rounding up those in the arts and entertainment industry and using them as the vehicles through which President Obama can peddle his agenda.
