David Geffen Never Owned a Cell Phone, Never Wed Keanu Reeves

so naturally, when other gay men see someone like Geffen, who not only succeeded, but who became wildly successful and a celebrity, in fact, it causes them to ask why him and not me. And when you start asking why him and not me, there are two... (Other Geffen facts: He’s never carried a cell phone, has never texted anyone and doesn’t own an ATM card. Geffen, who is on tape suggesting "ego" isn't a "pejorative" term in his mind, insists he never saw himself as the smartest person in the room at any point during his career, revealing that he did poorly in school -- “I thought I was dumb,” he... Yep, there is nothing most gay men hate more than another gay man who is successful. In fact, he said the only reason he had the confidence to go after a gig as a William Morris agent is because he believed it rewarded a different skill set, and one that he had: the ability to “bullshit on the phone. while the second direction is to look outwardly and attribute their success to some combination of luck and connections that you did not have, which allowed them to overcome the barriers that you could not overcome. ” Decades later, he’s enjoying his time away from the business – at 69, he said, he doesn’t “want a job” -- and noted that he’s content spending weeks at a time lost in books and newspapers. I guess, to be fair, a lot of that resentment is due to the fact that it is so very hard to succeed professionally in the world if you are gay, outside of a few stereotypical fields, given the homophobia all around us--and was harder still for... I’m just not her vain,” he shrugged, adding that the one about him marrying Keanu Reeves – an actor he said he had never met at the time of the report -- was similarly untrue. If you’ve heard the one about Carly Simon suggesting her song “You’re So Vain” is about Geffen, he assures you it wasn’t. even if the individual in question has done a world of good for the gay community, as Geffen has.

Get involved, and enjoy life at Smith Mountain Lake
22.05.13
From my association with my jazzer-buddies, I was introduced to yet another interesting and dynamic group of people on the Smith Mountain Lake Charity Home Tour and was invited to join their board of directors in 2011 and remain a part of their... From the beginning, working with board members and the vast numbers of volunteers it takes to pull off this event each year, I have been impressed with the spirit of the group, its dedication to the lake community and those who live among us and... Finally, I should mention that Greg has been involved with the Coast Guard Auxiliary here on the lake and has made a number of wonderful friends through this group. At the same time, I was invited to work with the Franklin County Organizing for America (OFA) but was not sure how one association would work with the other. No, this is a vital and supportive group of women from all walks of life and different parts of the country who respect, support, and care for one another. At first I was hesitant to get involved, mostly I think because I figured I was amidst a sea of strong membership on the other side of the political isle and didn’t want to upset what seemed like a good thing I had going meeting people and working... “Jazzer Jill” has created a wonderful climate for getting good exercise and having fun while doing it. But this is not just a group of women who meet for an hour every day to dance and get their heart rates up to some terrific music. My first introduction to the lake community and one that has come to mean so much to me is my participation in the Westlake Jazzercise group under Jill Hamilton Muccino. It’s a great community of folks who have made Smith Mountain Lake their home. So I guess what I am saying is that getting involved is the best way to meet people and enjoy life around the lake. One example stands out for me when a small group of friendly and feisty (. ) women from the Republican Club came over to our business fair booth to say hello. This is the volunteer arm of the “real Coast Guard” and as such is primarily concerned with boater safety and helping out at various events on the lake throughout the season. Another example of how well things can work when people get involved happened at the office opening ceremony of the SML Dems. The Club announced its support of the Charity Home Tour in the form of a Bronze-Plus Sponsorship. Most recently, I joined the Smith Mountain Lake Democrats. 5, 6, 7 for the 2012 Charity Home Tour Event.
